Job Description
In line with the strategic directions defined by the company, the Program Optimization Analyst contributes to the execution of the short-term network development plan (covering a horizon of 1 to 9 months).
The Program Optimization team oversees the ongoing management of the current season’s schedule with the objective of improving Transat’s profitability. This is a key role that requires close collaboration with several departments, including Revenue Management, Pricing, Finance, Product, Public Affairs, and Flight Operations.
The Program Optimization Analyst is responsible for analyzing the expected economic performance of flights to support decision-making regarding changes to the active schedule. The incumbent also communicates directives to the Current Schedule and Commercial Distribution teams regarding adjustments to the flight schedule and passenger reaccommodation plans, including those resulting from changes involving the company’s partners.
Responsibilities
- Optimize the current season’s schedule through tactical initiatives in collaboration with Revenue Management and Pricing teams to identify opportunities for short-term revenue and profitability improvement. Identify and analyze risks and opportunities and recommend or implement appropriate corrective actions, including capacity adjustments.
- Monitor the profitability performance of Air Transat’s routes across the network.
- Develop economic impact assessment tools to support decision-making when flight schedule changes are considered (e.g., aircraft type changes).
- Conduct diagnostic assessments, perform analyses, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of future seasonal schedules based on long-term strategic directions and in collaboration with the Program Development team, with a focus on achieving optimal economic performance.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on topics related to Program Optimization.
- Actively participate in projects related to the management and optimization of the current season’s schedule.
- Communicate required changes to the Current Schedule and Commercial Distribution teams, including adjustments to flight schedules and passenger reaccommodation plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly on matters related to program optimization.
- Act as a driver of innovation by promoting improvements to methodologies, processes, and organizational practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific and/or economic discipline (such as Mathematics, Economics, Optimization, Operations Research, or a related field).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience (experience in the airline industry is considered an asset).
- Strong analytical skills, ability to influence, and a proactive mindset.
- Effective time management skills and a results-oriented approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Advanced proficiency with information management and productivity tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as decision-support tools and techniques.
- Strong adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.
- Oral and written fluency in French and English *
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
