Job Description

The Agent, Central Baggage traces baggage using WorldTracer, opens tracing files for unresolved files and traces baggage for a period of thirty (30) days.

  • Deal with e-mails and mail from the baggage center. 
  • Prepare various reports for operational and statistical purposes.
  • Carries out daily baggage searches using the WorldTracer Service.
  • Takes calls from our passengers. 
  • Closes files under search and files older than thirty (30) days for processing. 
  • Communicates by telephone with passengers and travel agents to obtain all the information required to facilitate and activate baggage tracing. 
  • Also provides ongoing support to stations in the search for lost baggage, and ensures that baggage is delivered quickly and safely to passengers, depending on their location. 
  • Contacts tour operator representatives at destination to provide information to be passed on to customers at hotels. 
  • Authorizes delivery routes and tracks baggage, especially in special cases and emergencies.
  •  Checks and responds daily to messages concerning all baggage dispute issues for Air Transat stations. 
  • Various related administrative tasks are linked to the main duties, including taking telephone calls to the Baggage Center.
  • Payment and compensation for delayed and damaged baggage 

Qualifications

  • High school leaving diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience on Worldtracer and baggage tracing (strong asset);
  • Customer service experience;
  • Experience or knowledge of the airline field; (strong asset);
  • Bilingual (French and English) written and spoken; (Spanish an asset)
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, diplomacy and good organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.

*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
