Job Description
As the Flight Data Monitoring Analyst, you will contribute to the improvement of the flight safety. You will be part of the Flight Safety Team. You will collaborate with the Flight Operations and Technical Teams, as well as with the pilot representatives.

Main responsibilities
- Ensures that the Flight Data Monitoring Program actively contributes to the improvement of the flight safety, based on the industry best practices and in compliance with the confidentiality criteria and IOSA requirements;
- Organizes the monthly Flight Data Monitoring Program meetings and follows up on the required actions;
- Collaborates on a regular basis with the Gatekeepers.
- Actively participates in C-CAST (Canadian Commercial Aviation Safety Team) meetings and activities.
- Collaborates with various external entities, such as the flight data analysis provider, IATA, Airbus and NACC.
- Analyzes exceedances, establishes risk levels and coordinates actions with the gatekeepers.
- Carries out statistical analysis of flight data, identifies trends, make recommendations and prepares required reports;
- Participates in investigations requiring flight data analysis;
- As required, support Safety Officers in the processing of safety reports related to flight operations, including database entry, investigation, risk assessment, root cause determination and corrective action follow-up.
- When needed, support the Safety Officers in the processing of safety reports, including data entry into the database, incident investigation, risk assessment, root cause determination and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Maintains up to date the Flight Data Monitoring Program procedures.
- Contributes articles to the Flight Safety Department’s monthly publication;
- Supports, as needed, the Director, Flight Safety, by performing other related tasks.
Qualifications
- University Diploma in a related field such as Aviation Engineering; or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aviation, including at least three (3) years in Flight Operations.
- Flight data analysis experience is essential;
- A Pilot’s Licence is an asset;
- Experience in flight data analysis is an asset;
- Strong analytical and statistical abilities;
- Computer proficiency: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to work independently;
Oral and written fluency in French and English *
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
