Job Description

The Supervisor, Maintenance coordinates and supervises the Mechanics, Avionics, Sheet Metal workers, Interior Mechanics and other Maintenance classifications that come under his authority.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Takes or proposes measures to encourage employees to follow through with the goals of the department;
  • Ensures that the maintenance actions performed on the Company’s aircraft conform to the requirements of the MCM/ MPM and the Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals. Also reviews all Maintenance release of the aircraft Journey Log Book;
  • Coordinates maintenance activities to the best of his abilities in order to provide serviceable aircraft at scheduled departure times;
  • Recommends to the Line Maintenance Manager / Manager, Line Maintenance safety training, or other procedures that would enhance the performance and reliability of the Maintenance operation;
  • Monitors and records any and all absenteeism, tardiness, or other non-performance factors of the personnel under his authority and to report such factors to the Line Maintenance Manager
  • Ensures a progressive approach to establish and maintain a positive attitude towards discipline in cooperation with the Line Maintenance Manager
  • Coordinates with other bases within the Maintenance department to ensure good follow-up on aircraft defect control;
  • Performs other duties and assignments within his capabilities that the Line Maintenance Manager request from time-to-time.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in aircraft maintenance engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a certified mechanic;
  • Working experience on the aircraft types within Air Transat’s fleet;
  • Knowledge of AMOS an asset
  • Good leadership and communication skills;
  • Lead hand experience as Ramp Mechanic is a strong asset;
  • Possess a current Air Transat Aircraft Endorsement;
  • Possess a Transport Canada Maintenance License (M2).
