Job Description

As a qualified flight dispatcher, the Lead Chief of Operations will be responsible for the coordination and short-term planning of the activities of dispatch personnel, ensuring compliance with the regulatory outline and procedures of the operations manual. Through his expertise and analytical sense, he will also be responsible for making recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Ensures the coordination of dispatch activities;
  • Proceeds with the validation of flight plans by the dispatch team;
  • Plans short-term operations (72 hours);
  • Act as a resource person for competent authorities and other external agencies;
  • Maintains and ensures the accuracy of information used by flight dispatchers in all systems; (AIMS, N-FP and others);
  • Ensures the link effectively in the event of system malfunctions or failures;
  • Validates flight reports and follow up on operational incidents;
  • Ensures compliance with the procedures put in place in the Emergency Response Plan;
  • Evaluates and propose recommendations with the purpose of improving the efficiency of operations;
  • Replaces the manager of Flight Dispatch in case of absence or vacation.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience as a certified flight dispatcher at Air Transat;
  • Good knowledge of the Flight Planning System (N-FP);
  • Languages: French / English (bilingual), oral and written, essential;
  • Good knowledge of basic software (Excel, Word, etc.);
  • Good verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Good leadership sense.
