Job Description

Training and Cabin Standards is responsible for the regulatory compliance of cabin operations and the management of Air Transat flight attendant, pilot, flight dispatcher and mechanic training and qualifications.

In collaboration with the Specialist, Training Programs, the Training Developer develops interactive and engaging training solutions that take the written word and make it come to life. The incumbent will play a strategic role in the development of training materials for Air Transat’s internal clients. Their main responsibilities will be to use different approaches to produce learning modules and videos on various topics. They will manage the audio-visual assets of the department to ensure consistency of brand and ensure these tools are available to meet learning objectives.

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances skill development and knowledge retention;
  • Design, develop and manage learning assets that meet specific learning standards, methodologies, and practices;
  • Collaborate with managers, subject matter experts and external partners, to edit and curate existing training materials;
  • Design and develop learning assets for a range of delivery platforms (workshop, print-based self-study, self-paced web, virtual learning, blended learning, etc.) to meet the learner and business needs;
  • Develop post training support and reinforcement tools to sustain behavioural change and drive improved performance and business outcomes;
  • Ensure quality checks and flawless execution of all aspects of assigned initiatives;
  • Contribute to the overall success of learning and development by identifying ways to continuously improve the design and development process, tools and learning experience;
  • Stay current with learning-oriented technology trends and innovations to continually create quality learning assets and enhance the learning experience for diverse groups of learners;
  • Manage the work assignment schedule and ensure that key stakeholders and partners are proactively advised of any issues, tasks, and changes;
  • Leverage rapid, agile development techniques and processes to create learning for a rapidly changing environment;
  • Continually evaluate solutions for freshness, quality, business impact and scalability;
  • Upload materials to the LMS platform and keep it up to date.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent;
  • 2-years of experience in a similar position;                 
  • Experience with, or a strong understanding of, adult learning principles and tactics, and working knowledge of change management concepts;
  • Bilingual (French and English) spoken and written;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience of working with an LMS;
  • Experience with: Articulate 360, Adobe (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Audition), Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, video making tools (e.g. Vyond, Powtoon, Doodly);
  • Excellent organizational skills and capacity to work under pressure;
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Creativity, initiative, and resourcefulness;
  • Consummate team player;
  • Ability to travel and work off hours;
  • Assets:
    • Experience building practical learning solutions in the format of simulations, interactive and gamified learning
    • Previous work experience in aviation
  • Ability to provide a portfolio.
