Job Description

This is a 12month fixed term contract

The team is organised across the following 3 areas: Fees, Ancillary Partnerships and Advertising.

This role will work with the Fees area within the business, driving revenue growth and a great customer experience globally. In some instances, Trainline charges fees on a transaction to pay for and invest in other services. This is an important revenue stream for the business and it is very important that we continue to make the right trade-offs between revenue and customer experience. This will be a critical part of your role.

Key Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for the global fees revenue at Trainline, and in order to achieve this the role will be accountable for the following:

Identification of fees opportunities

  • Identify customer needs and demand elasticity
  • Evaluate size of opportunity, ease of implementation, and trade-offs
  • Develop business case and rapid test/learn plan

 

Implement plans and identified opportunities

  • Work with payments and other product/engineering resource to implement proposals
  • Work with testing, data science, and analytics teams to measure impact at aggregate and micro level
  • Work with brand and marketing teams to ensure messaging is aligned to implementation, and to help drive customer understanding

General – day to day activities to manage

  • Performance analysis
  • Key dependency identification and mitigation working cross-functionally across the business

Qualifications

We’re seeking someone with proven experience in a commercial role working for a fast-paced digital business. You will be data driven and comfortable working with detailed analysis. Crucial to your success will be your ability to communicate and synthesise across functional areas and prioritise required actions.

More specifics of what we are looking for:-

  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth within a pricing or fees-type role, and ideally within consumer online travel
  • A strong strategic, analytical toolkit and good commercial and product sensibilities
  • Understanding of the digital space, able to understand and make trade-offs between growth and profitability
  • Highly analytical with a structured problem-solving approach
  • Expert in managing multiple relationships across different teams, disciplines and levels and influencing decision makers at various levels both internally and externally
  • Suited to working at pace, with ambiguity, and in a highly visible and accountable culture
  • Ability to prepare performance reports or product plans and confidently present these to stakeholders and progress with development teams
  • Outstanding Excel skills, with Powerpoint skills to a high standard
  • An exceptional communicator and influencer, will excel at synthesising information and communicating actions clearly
  • Degree in an analytical and/or business related topic would be ideal.
