Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and commercially minded SEO Content Manager to join Trainline’s growing editorial team. You’ll collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver high quality content that will catch and inspire customers at the top of the marketing funnel.  

The role requires applicants with a passion for SEO, digital marketing, creative thinking and learning who can generate and execute ideas for increasing the web presence of Europe’s leading independent train and coach platform.   

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct thorough keyword research and use this to write and implement targeted updates to meta titles, descriptions, H1’s and other on-page content changes to drive performance. 

  • Create and assist in publishing SEO-optimised editorial-style content, in line with our brand tone of voice and style guide. 

  • Checking content and copywriting for local accuracy and effectiveness. 

  • Help activate those opportunities by implementing on-site SEO optimisation and changes. 

  • Use a range of tools to monitor and analyse search engine, competitor and keyword performance to find valuable opportunities. 

  • Provide support to the editorial team to deliver the business objectives. 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of search engines and the algorithmic ranking factors. 

  • Previous experience executing organic content strategies. 

  • Skilled Microsoft Office user, especially Excel. 

  • Basic knowledge in using analytics tools such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and happy to learn working with new tools. 

  • Familiar with SEO tools such as SEMRush and Ahrefs. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong copywriter and content-savvy. 

  • Experience with updating content via a CMS platform (desired, but not essential). 

  • Ability to manage target expectations and report on KPI’s. 

  • Positive attitude, growth mindset, flexible and can work collaboratively. 

  • Enjoys and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Enthusiastic, energetic and creative, likes to bring ideas to the table. 

  • Analytical with a high attention to detail.
