Job Description

A truly data-driven organisation, Trainline relies on data at all levels of the organisation, so maintaining a high quality of data is paramount to continue our growth. Having undergone a transformation of our web analytics setup in 2019, building a clean foundation from the ground-up, we seek an experienced Senior Analytics Implementation Specialist to manage our suite of tags across our entire estate and drive the development of our product and marketing analytics. The Senior Analytics Implementation Specialist will work with the marketing and product teams to deliver end-to-end tagging; from gathering requirements, managing schemas, implementing tags and testing to ensure data capture is accurate and third parties tools are populating properly. You'll be working with the marketing and product teams to ensure their data needs are met and that they are effectively leveraging our data layer. You’ll be joining an existing team but also be taking a proactive role and owning some of our ongoing projects like the development of GA4 and GTM Server Side across App and Web.  

What will you be working on? 🤔 

  • Marketing tagging & tracking across the digital ecosystem, including desktop, mobile and app platforms via GTM. 
  • Monitor and optimise the performance of tags and use of cookies. 
  • Keep us up to date with industry developments and best practice marketing tag implementation techniques. 
  • Monitor and optimise tags for site performance. 
  • Monitor data and tag quality and proactively investigate issues and discrepancies. 
  • Maintain documentation of tagging standards 
  • Update and maintain data layer schemas  
  • Create tracking specification documentation for implementation by our development team 
  • Leading on several core projects such as GA4 and GTM Server Side 

 

Qualifications

We would love to hear from you if you have... 🔍 

  • Detailed experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • An understanding of the complete Google Marketing Platform stack
  • Implemented marketing tags and pixels for various providers
  • An understanding of how analytics generated audiences can drive marketing effectiveness
  • Active experience with GA4 and Firebase 
  • Worked in fast-paced, agile teams
  • An ability to liaise with commercial and technical stakeholders
  • Have at least a basic knowledge of JavaScript and JSON 
  • Have a working knowledge of SQL
