Job Description

This Head of Reward role is a newly created position, we've grown our headcount a lot in recent times, both in the UK and across the EU.  We want to make sure that as we continue to scale, all Trainliners are getting the reward and recognition their hardwork deserves.

This role will be working closely with our People leadership team in designing, recommending, and implementing a progressive reward strategy that scales and supports our UK and EU office locations. Reporting to the People Director, you’ll be the Reward lead across Trainline, engaging with our Trainliners, our people leadership team, Trainline senior leaders and our Remuneration Committee as and when required to drive our reward strategy.

The role is responsible for:

  • Ownership for reward approach and strategy across all locations including UK, France, Spain and Italy - bringing it to life by ensuring all reward processes and practices are understood and recognised by Trainliners from onboarding, and right through the employee life cycle.
  • Leading on all cyclical remuneration processes - including promotions, pay changes, bonus and equity plans - with a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring we iterate and evolve our approaches.
  • Leading on the evolution of transparent, flexible and progressive pay frameworks - scalable, relatable to our diverse workforce.
  • Leading inclusion within Reward, partnering with the People leadership team to champion positive progress and deliver on Gender pay reporting, equal pay and any other diversity requirements.
  • Ensure regular benchmarking and market related pay research is undertaken to ensure our understanding of the positioning of our roles is maintained and provide recommendations wherever needed.
  • Proactively lead and provide reward analysis including modelling bonus outturn, compensation gap to market, global gender pay gap analysis.
  • Managing and executing on the delivery of all equity programmes across Trainline
  • Providing expertise in executive compensation, managing and executing the appropriate Executive Remuneration Committee structure to support our CPO and Director of Finance.
  • Working closely with our People ops team to design, recommend and implement our benefits program that is scalable and in line with our Trainline purpose across our different locations
  • Operate as the reward SME for all business transactions, M&A's or major business change programmes.
  • Partnering with Finance leadership to deliver seamless cost management for all elements of compensation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading and managing reward approach and strategy in growing, fast-paced and high change environments, ideally within tech.
  • You’ll have ideally led the creation of forward-thinking reward packages and frameworks that deliver value and engage our Trainliners
  • Experience of executive comp and supporting the Remuneration Committee agenda
  • Management of a range of different pensions and benefits via multiple providers, ideally working across UK and EU.
  • Experience working with senior leadership on all aspects of compensation.
  • Strong communicator to lead on engaging our people with our offering.
  • Proven data and analytical skills.
  • Excellent and proven business partnering skills.
