Job Description

Trainline is looking for an Italian native, creative UX Content/Localisation Specialist to join our UX Content team. Based in Paris or Milan, the role requires native Italian and fluency in English. This is an 8-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).

You are a language specialist who is passionate about writing, translating and adapting content to help us speak in our distinctive Trainline voice across our product. You are an independent, highly motivated, creative individual who is responsible for our product content and translations, helping us increase customer engagement and retention. You can interact, partner and influence the work of a diverse team of UX content specialists, designers and researchers in a low-ego, highly collaborative space within the Product team. You enjoy shaping and sharing best practices internally.

UX – Passionate about creating a friction-free, native, authentic experience for customers, supporting their emotional journey through using our product (website and app).

Localisation – A linguist with a deep understanding of the nuances of the language.

Writing – A confident writer with a creative mind and an intuitive sense for native product excellence, able to write clear, concise, and consistent copy.

Flexibility – Able to work in fast-moving environments while remaining focused and calm under tight deadlines. Your work is amazing, but not too precious or inflexible.

Key responsibilities

  • Localise and adapt product content from English to Italian
  • Work in partnership with designers and researchers within the UX team to create product content that looks and feels local
  • Be the voice and the gatekeeper of Italian product content
  • Be at the heart of content decision-making for Italian product content
  • QA and optimise all new features and products for the Italian market

Qualifications

  • Native Italian speaker with excellent writing skills and a deep understanding of localisation for the Italian market
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • University degree in translation, linguistics or language-related field or matching relevant experience
  • Up to 3 years translation/creative/content writing experience gained within digital, e-commerce, transport, marketing, apps, websites
  • Knowledge of CAT tools (Trados, Smartling, Memsource, etc.)
  • Linguistic QA experience required (ideally within apps)
  • Understanding of UX writing principles
  • Expertise in working with product and brand vision
  • Strong focus on detail and quality of work
