Job Description

We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our growing international accounting team based in Paris, the key purpose of this newly created role is to the support the Paris based Head of Finance in the delivery of a robust month end process, including timely production of all corporate and statutory reporting requirements. This role will require close working relationships with other department heads, including the London and Edinburgh finance teams, Carrier’s managers team (Germany, Spain, Italy). 

You must be confident in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical skills and demonstrate a can-do attitude.  The role will be fast paced with changing demands and plenty of opportunity to get involved in one off projects and new challenges

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Management of month end close process.  Ensure all month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed within strict timeframes. 
  • Prepare group and individual entity month end balance sheet reviews.
  • Reconciliation of month end actuals to MI and MA reporting.
  • Recognising the finance needs within the business and showing initiative to provide the relevant reporting
  • Payroll allocation by financial dimensions and posting on a monthly basis.

Net sales posting, Carrier balance sheet reconciliation owner

  • Be the go-to source of knowledge and subject matter expert for details of our relationship and settlement process with our international suppliers.
  • Hold strong relationships with our supply managers.
  • Management of EU & ROW carrier accounting entries and cash settlement processes.
  • Completion of complex balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Be responsible for the posting of Net sales on a monthly basis on an International perimeter
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to track performance against latest forecasts and support the budgeting/re-forecasting process
  • Lead meeting with reporting team at month-end to provide accurate comments on the performance and the variance vs forecast.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the data back-office team, becoming their ‘go to’ for queries around data flow changes. Ensure this relationship is on the front foot to enable a smooth change process for when new data flows/changes occur.
  • Proactively provide the relevant team members any info useful to forecast cash drivers, on an ongoing basis. 

Statutory Reporting & Compliance

  • Key contact point of contact for external and internal audit visits when it comes to net sales and Carrier BS reconciliation. 
  • Collation of interim and year end audit requirements.
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations suitable for audit standard review
  • Make improvements to workbooks and processes where required, adding value where possible

Qualifications

  • Qualified CA/ACCA with up to 4 plus years’ industry experience, with strong financial accounting/ month end close experience.
  • Experience operating with an enterprise wide, integrated finance system across multiple business units.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and developing a small team.
  • Decisive and confident in operating autonomously on a regular basis, positive, self-reliant, open-minded and enthusiastic attitude.  Confident in a fast paced, change environment.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills including excellent leadership, staff management and with the ability to motivate and enthuse staff, facilitating their work both as part of the team and under their own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills
