Job Description

We are looking for a Product Marketing Director with experience in B2B SaaS to help us meet the challenges of our ongoing expansion.

Under the guidance of the VP, Marketing, you and the product marketing team will be a critical component in the entire marketing organization. You will work closely with Product Management on all aspects of product-market fit for a product line, including developing product go-to-market strategies, understanding customer and market needs, building compelling product positioning and messaging, influencing product roadmaps, enabling the field on communication strategies, and executing successful product launches.  In addition, you will be responsible to build and maintain relationships with key analysts for Tradeshift, which will include scheduling and conducting ongoing calls, intake calls, and specific projects. The work will also require aligning Tradeshift executives with analysts for periodic updates, product roadmaps, and other industry topics.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling product positioning, messaging, and launch/update plans for the products you own.

  • Partner with Product Management to help shape product roadmap and vision.

  • Effectively enable sales, customer success, and the broader organization to understand and articulate the value of Tradeshift’s offerings.

  • Create and manage the right set of sales tools, collateral, and enablement processes

  • Develop and deliver insightful market and competitive intelligence.

  • Collaborate with marketing, brand, sales, and demand generation teams to increase market presence and build pipeline and revenue.

  • Spend time daily in-market to understand trends, competitors, and verticals, and apply that knowledge to actionable internal insights.

  • Personally evangelize the Tradeshift story by delivering compelling presentations at live and virtual events.

  • Spend time with customers to better understand market needs and document ICP, key personas, use cases, and value drivers for Tradeshift products.

  • Build and manage the Analyst Relations and Influencer Relations program for Tradeshift including setting up inquiries, briefings, feedback meetings, making decisions on evaluations and executing on evaluations response such as IDC MarketScapes, Forrester Waves and Gartner Magic Quadrants along with specialized industry Analysts such as Spend Matters and Ardent Partners

  • Preparing, reviewing and managing the yearly Analyst Relations budget 

  • Working closely with global corporate communications teams to build and support analyst relations programs 

  • Partnering with product marketing, customer marketing, product managers, corporate marketing, Sales and Public Relations to determine the best Analyst Relations strategies to support specific announcements and Company & Product milestones

  • Producing quarterly communications to Tradeshift analyst and influencer contacts to keep them abreast of major news and upcoming relevant events

  • Partnering with the corporate communications team to execute annual analyst events and Tradeshift activities across the globe

  • Proactively sharing critical research with Tradeshift leadership and key product teams

  • Serving as a key voice for Tradeshift in front of global influencers and research analysts

  • Maintaining a steady rhythm of communications with key influencers and analysts

  • Occasional travel, international and domestic

About you:

The Director of Product Marketing has to display an ability to influence and move product marketing personnel as well as collaborative personnel towards a single unified direction. The Director of Product Management will possess team-building skills that will facilitate achievement of team goals.

The Director of Product Marketing will also have an apparent and seasoned business judgment that will earn the trust and respect of the team; they will have a consecutively proven ability to engage in a product and lead it to commercial success. The Director of Product Marketing will also have a people-focused enthusiasm and empathy that will genuinely and positively improve how product marketing personnel perform their functions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, analyst relations, and/or marketing experience.  B2B experience preferred. (Finance, SaaS, or Technology space a plus)

  • Experience managing Analyst relations 

  • A strategic and pragmatic problem-solver 

  • Proven success in developing messaging, positioning, and driving sales enablement

  • Agile mentality with the ability to effectively  move between strategic and tactical thought

  • Highly skilled at analytical decision-making, recognizes business challenges, and provides a path to the solution. 

  • Ability to distill actionable intelligence from data and compile and present findings and decisions.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, influence decision-making, and build authority.

  • Strong ability to translate product features into easily understood, meaningful, value-based positioning and messaging by industry, segment, persona, and archetype

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

  • Skilled at working with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to execute independently on initiatives

  • Excellent creative writing, story creation, and storytelling capabilities

  • Experience guiding product leadership on analyst interactions, from start to finish

  • Experience participating in formal vendor evaluations including but not limited to Marketscapes, Waves and Magic Quadrants

  • A clear understanding of the significance and purpose of Analyst Relations for marketing, corporate, and company strategy

  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
