Job Description

Tradeshift is looking for a Sr. Global Payroll Manager.  We are headquartered in San Francisco and are looking for a payroll professional with 10+ years of experience specifically with U.S. and international payroll in Europe and Asia . This position supervises two staff in Europe and will be responsible for processing and operational oversight of global payroll.  Additional responsibilities include project management of global payroll service implementations, coordination with teams to integrate  payroll systems with other upstream and downstream systems, and leading or participating in other global initiatives. 

What you will be doing:

  • Service Delivery Architecture for our Global Operations servicing 20+ countries with Workday Payroll and Outsourced with a Workday Certified Partner

  • Review, analyze and improve the current Global payroll process, Workforce Administration, benefits (related to payroll) employee and employer tax procedures

  • Work with our People Operations team to ensure we are delivering a cohesive service delivery model for Tier 1 and handoff to Tier 2 support

  • SME for International Payroll Tax and Administration of our Global Mobility function

  • Support annual financial statement audit, 401(k) plan administration, and other statutory audits as required

  • Manage annual preparation and delivery of annual tax information forms to employees globally

  • Maintain compliance with all country-specific laws and regulations globally, including Federal, State, and local payroll tax laws

  • Continual learning of legal requirements and new legislation, analyzing their impact and then advising on needed actions. 

  • Collaborate with our HRIS Team to solution and develop streamlined functionality in Workday to support our global payroll and time tracking processes

  • Oversight of our open HRIS tickets in JIRA and coordination of testing with our operations teams

  • Collect and centralize payroll supporting information (timesheets, medical and holiday leave, salary changes, bonuses, lunch tickets, etc.) 

  • Administrator of time recording system 

  • Responsible for calculating manual checks and NSO transactions

  • Collaborate closely with local HR Managers

  • Supportive of promptly answering and responding to payroll related queries from employees

  • Track, monitor, review and validate data from and sent to payroll service providers.

  • Prepare and post payroll and related journal entries

  • Provides accurate analysis of reconciliation payroll records to third party documents

  • Conduct accounts reconciliation periodically, monthly general ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making

  • Seek opportunities for central testing, automation and process efficiencies

  • Supports the entity local payroll system transition to global payroll solution (Activepayroll)

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

  • Coordinating with outside service providers for equity compensation, accounting,and reporting.

Qualifications

You’re perfect for this role if you have the following experience:

  • Effective Leadership, management and coaching skills

  • Ability to foster effective relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Ability to plan activities, foresee needs and potential issues, and to solve problems efficiently and effectively. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service experience required

  • Organized, efficient, with ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve conflicts effectively

  • 5 years’ experience with oversight and implementation of service delivery operating models and supporting technology

  • 3-5-year Workday Payroll and HCM experience

  • 7-10 years payroll and or Time Tracking experience

  • Understanding of financial reporting and ability to develop and implement effective internal controls

  • Intermediate experience with Excel, Google Sheets, and other office applications

  • Experience in systems implementation and conversion Project Management

  • Process re-engineering/development experience, RPA and Robotics knowledge

  • SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence experience preferred
