The Town of Stony Plain is the local government authority responsible for planning and delivering municipal services in Stony Plain, a Canadian urban community of approximately 18,000 people on the traditional Indigenous lands of Treaty 6 peoples.
Job Description

We are looking to fill one Seasonal Parks Labourer and one Seasonal Horticulture Labourer. These positions may also assist other divisions as required.
We are seeking a candidate who can:
- Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
- Weed landscaped areas.
- Water plants and green spaces.
- Mow lawns and maintain turf areas.
- Collect and dispose of garbage and debris.
- Remove graffiti from public spaces.
- Assist other municipal divisions as required.
Qualifications
Conditions of Employment:
- C.S.A. steel-toed boots
- A clean Criminal Records check
- A Valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license, and a satisfactory driver’s Abstract.
- Current First Aid certification would be considered a definite asset.

Additional Information
In accordance with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955, current Collective Agreement, the starting wage is $21.97 per hour. Normal hours of work are 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Work requirements may dictate a rotational work schedule to include some weekends. The successful candidate must be willing to work overtime as required. The approximate end date for the seasonal employment will be August 28, 2026.
