Are you looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference and impact with youth in the Town of Stony Plain and Tri-Region area? If you have experience repairing bicycles and an interest in working directly with youth aged 11-17 to implement a skill-based experience, we want to hear from you!
We are currently hiring for a casual, Youth Bicycle Program Mentor. Reporting to the Community Development Officer, Youth Engagement this position will lead the bicycle repair program and work with and encourage youth to learn the workings of bicycles while developing vital life skills including problem solving, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, as well as respect and appreciation.

Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who:
- Demonstrates the ability to teach or instruct others in learning new skills.
- Is organized with the ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Holds a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License.
- Can establish and maintain positive relationships with community organizations and youth.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- Previous experience in bike repair and maintenance is required.
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Education, Recreation Administration, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience delivering community programs and events, particularly those focused on youth, is considered an asset.

Additional Information
This is a casual position based on approximately 20-30 hours per month. The hourly pay range for this position is $28.56 per hour to $34.17 per hour based on experience. The GEAR program is expected to take place during the week, after school or early evening.
