Job Description

Metroland Parcel Service’s Toronto Distribution Centre requires a full time Senior Shipper/Receiver for its day parcel service operation. Reporting to the Parcel Operation Manager and the Parcel Services Supervisor, this position will be responsible for the shipping and receiving of parcels coming into the distribution center.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Track, log and communicate shipments with various trucking companies to our depot network
  • Provide customer service to and from our retail client locations
  • Picking skids off racks and delivering them to the production staging area
  • Inventory control of finished (skidded) products
  • Maintain consistent workflow by ensuring product is prepped for shipping area in a safe, timely manner
  • Ensure distribution products are labeled accordingly
  • Responsible for the outbound loading and staging area
  • Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Company Health and Safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Distribution Centre management team

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years previous experience working in a distribution/warehouse operation an asset
  • Forklift equipment certificate required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overnights, weekends and on occasions, statutory holidays if required
  • Demonstrates ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and management
  • Results-driven Leader
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office applications an asset (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Health and Safety knowledge and experience preferred
