Job Description

Reporting to the Parcel Service Manager this newly created position will be responsible for supporting the launch of our parcel service business out of the Gordon Baker Distribution Centre.  This role will coordinate inbound parcel traffic, onsite sortation & tracking & outbound delivery each day.  Responsibilities include monitoring daily delivery targets and service requirements through data tracking and management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Parcel Service Manager and interact daily with Circulation and warehouse staff to ensure sortation and delivery processes are in place and operating efficiently. 

Position Accountabilities:

  • Reports directly to the Parcel Service Manager
  • Closely monitor data coming from internal customers and process data corrections to ensure accuracy & build manifest information for daily delivery use
  • Monitor incoming parcel shipments & traffic to ensure timely processing of parcels
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure efficient parcel sortation
  • Monitor and identify missorted parcels and make necessary sort & delivery corrections
  • Partner with Circulation Managers to ensure sufficient delivery routes & necessary delivery coverage
  • Constantly review data tracking systems for timely and efficient parcel traffic flow
  • Complete various administrative tasks such as creating spreadsheets, data input, e-filing, and mail

Qualifications

  • Ability to think on your feet and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Energetic self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience in data processing would be an asset
  • Customer focus with outstanding work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Strong computer skills with sound knowledge of excel
