Job Description

  • Provide excellent customer service in addition to maintaining positive relationships with customers and employees. 
  • Accurately update and verify customer information and managing additional Excel tracking sheets and internal database. 

  • Communicate with Directors/Managers as needed regarding client data and confirmation of information. 

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned. 

  • Create, implement and manage strategies to meet and exceed YTD performance goals and objectives as well as maximize market potential in all business segments and divisions. 

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to attain and exceed revenue targets. 

  • Implement management controls which monitor performance and take corrective action when areas of non-performance is identified. 

  • Continue a high level of awareness of the division in the community by maintaining contact with readers, community leaders, business associations and by participating in community events. 

  • Align fair and effective performance measures with employee motivation to achieve and/or exceed assigned goals and objectives utilizing sound management tools and practices. 

  • Promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will conducive to maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency. 

  • As part of this role, you will be required to handle credit card information. Metroland Media is PCI compliant company, and requires people in this role to take PCI training to handle cards in a safe and compliant manner. 

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Business or in a related field. 

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience and direct management experience of a community newspaper preferred. Knowledge of the Company's products, services and demographics in order to properly develop strategies that increase growth and revenue is essential. 

  • Strong planning and management skills to develop strategic methods and increase revenue-production opportunities, driven for results. 

  • Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to analyze and develop new solutions or approaches sometimes with ambiguous terms. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to indicate clear goals and performance requirements within a large geographical footprint. 

  • Practice a high degree of political savvies and successfully communicate well in the community as the primary representative of the division. 

  • Competent leadership and effective interpersonal skills in order to keep staff motivated.
