Job Description

Metroland Media's Orangeville location, is currently providing an opportunity for a casual part-time position as a Warehouse Supervisor. Reporting to the Manager, this position will be responsible for the general operations, in addition to the supervision of all employees. This casual position is every Thursday from 7:30am-5:00pm, and occasionally on Friday.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure crews are properly scheduled to adhere to all flyer deadlines.
  • Supervise and oversee the mailroom to ensure that all incoming and outgoing products are properly distributed to the appropriate areas.
  • Safely receive and ship product using a pump truck.
  • Ensure the correct number of products as indicated by manifest are received and assigned to the appropriate contractor for delivery.
  • Breakout papers/flyers and other printed materials for drivers.
  • Recruit staff and create a strong team with a positive working environment.
  • Responsible for proper training of all new employees in the department
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and Ministry of Labour requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in warehouse environment. 
  • Ability to lift between 5 and 35lbs frequently and up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to motivate team to work quickly in response to tight newspaper and flyer deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop effective relationships.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.

Compensation

  • $18/hour based on experience.
