Job Description

Torstar is looking for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and wants to grow within a tech-focused marketing team. The affiliate team is responsible for acquiring and marketing to our high-value customers through various marketing channels (on-network, email, push notification, in-app messaging, and direct mail). 

As Lead Marketing Specialist, you will manage daily operations for Torstar across all product verticals. You will play a key role in ensuring all marketing communications adhere to best practices and deliver on acquisition targets. Ensuring all required partners are aligned on promotional offers at any given point in time. WHAT YOU’LL DO AS Affiliate Marketing Lead:

  • Setup and manage the performance of marketing campaigns across Torstar Network and contribute alongside the marketing operations, business development, paid and CRM teams to formulate ideas for driving new user acquisition
  • Identify new and compelling affiliate opportunities across the sports media and gaming space, and manage the company’s existing affiliate relationships
  • Support go-to-market strategy for new verticals and key sports moments throughout the year.
  • Ensure there is alignment between CRM, Promos, and VIP on the monthly promotional calendar across all verticals
  • Work cross-functionally with a broad set of Analytics, Product, and Engineering partners to incorporate user preferences, A/B tests, and product enhancements into channel plans.
  • Identify and execute A/B tests to draw insights to up-sell users into products, retain high-value users, and grow VIP Spend
  • Optimizing continuously for performance improvements and run daily, weekly and monthly reports on affiliate performance: Measure, report, and analyze campaign performance and test results, sharing learnings cross-functionally.
  • Ensure fulfillment of all marketing campaigns and that they adhere to channel best practices.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Creative team to deliver innovative, best-in-class creative concepts and designs - This looks like working with marketing operations to develop and coordinate promotions for affiliate channels based on performance data
  • Write emails, push notifications, SMS, and more aligned to our marketing standards and brand guidelines.
  • Ability to think critically, leveraging data to justify your decisions, and articulating thoughts effectively

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital, affiliate marketing or relevant marketing experience, preferably in the eCommerce, technology, or gaming industries.
  • Experience with mobile channels and attribution, and sports or sports betting affiliate landscape preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate results and define the next steps.
  • Well organized and great attention to detail, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, often under challenging time constraints.
  • Be a data-driven and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Gaming industry.
  • Experience working with affiliate tracking platforms such as CAKE, Income Access, Mexos is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau and HTML is a plus.
  • A passion for sports with polished copywriting and oral communication skills.
  • Willing to work non-standard hours based on the sports calendar; must be passionate and knowledgeable about sports, sports betting and casino business
  • Self-starter with ability to organize and prioritize tasks constantly
