Job Description

  • Must be able to work well in an unsupervised environment and as part of a project team.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability with emphasis on safety and reliability.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform machining would be an asset.
  • Must be aware of all safety standards and requirements for maintenance work.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, mechanics, and electricians
  • Perform the required maintenance on all stationary equipment, plant equipment and building components of the Plant. Schedule any major PM repairs with pressroom office.
  • Maintain records to support all PM work.
  • Carry out regular inventory control procedures and advise Maintenance Manager when parts need to be ordered.
  • Maintain, overhaul and repair weekly and monthly inspection of all equipment in the Plant ie: Presses, conveyors/delivery systems,  prepress equipment, and all other related equipment.
  • Modify and fabricate equipment to fit new production requirements or solve production issues.
  • Work with blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, fabricating and welding as required.
  • Operate mobile equipment as required (skyjack 5 ton overhead crane)
  • Constantly monitor plant equipment to pin point problems before they arise
  • Some weekends and night shift work will be required during major breakdowns or pager “call-in

Qualifications

  • Valid Industrial Millwright’s License. A433 or red seal
  • 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing or related industry

Assets:

  • Previous experience in the printing industry
  • Skyjack training
  • Forklift training
