Job Description

As the Performance Media Manager (MM), you are responsible for leading the success of client online biddable media campaigns by providing thought leadership on campaign strategies and optimizations. You excel at building strong relationships and establishing clear lines of communication with clients, partners, and interlock teams. The ideal MM candidate is analytical and uses problem solving capabilities to ensure flawless program execution as well as exceeding stated objectives. With the support of the Digital Sales Director and operations team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing industry-leading performance media marketing, focused on Paid Social, SEM/PPC and Programmatic Display.

Role Objectives:
Account Management

  • Assume accountability and ownership of multi-channel media campaign successes and failures
  • Monitor and report program financials, budgets, and fees to senior management
  • Interface with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and to identify and deliver new solutions for clients
  • Keep management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks, and other key nuances which affect the health of the business
  • Responsibility to grow revenue on existing business based on performance results to meet growth targets

Program Management

  • Direct and manage the daily workflow of all client programs, including initiation and management of projects across departments
  • Review client deliverables for quality and ensures that recommendations and work product are sound and viable
  • Create and execute digital account strategies and plans for assigned accounts
  • Effectively manage the delivery of creative assets, ad trafficking, insertion orders, campaign artifacts, and all relevant campaign documentation in preparation for campaign launch
  • Understand multi-channel optimization best practices and articulate knowledge and client deliverables effectively
  • Provide excellent communication via phone, email, and direct contact
  • Effectively create and deliver client presentations
  • Provide thought leadership to clients 
  • Good command of data analysis to identify, recommend, and implement changes for increasing the performance of client programs
  • Work with media partners to ensure accurate platform implementation

Team Leadership & Development

  • Embrace and encourage a culture based on teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity
  • Adopt stated account management standards and program management best practices
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and developing team members
  • Liaise with sales team in prospecting and building strategic recommendations to win client business and grow number of active digital accounts
  • Assist in the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group

Qualifications

  • Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of digital analytics platforms (GAIQ & AdWords certifications) and ability to drive insights from data
  • Business Analytics: ability to use quantitative methods to analyze data and recommend better advertising/marketing decisions
  • Thorough understanding of digital touch points throughout the customer journey and their effect on customer behaviour
  • Firm grasp of emerging digital tools, trends, and channels
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, logical thinker, and high attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce, including basic knowledge of web design and HTML, understanding of ecomm platforms and online merchandising tools, and their integration with paid digital media
  • Broad knowledge of best digital practices
  • Some understanding of traditional media and their role in purchase funnel
