Job Description

The Sales Manager is accountable for leading the development and expansion of an inbound sales strategy and team for Marketing 360. The high powered, fast-moving Inbound Sales Team is vital to our mission because they are responsible for consulting with new prospects and designing a solution to help them achieve their goals.  The Sales Manager will train, coach and mentor a remote sales team building the Marketing 360 brand awareness and selling our digital marketing (SaaS) software to small and medium sized businesses. This role is also responsible for their sales team meeting sales goals and driving our strategy with each sales team member. Marketing 360 is a newly established business unit (in partnership with Madwire and Torstar) and requires a passionate sales coach and people manager to accelerate the business. Success in this role requires excellent leadership, a mindset which loves solving the challenges that come with pioneering an emerging sales team, and the ability to execute against an ever-changing business environment in which we operate.

This role will ensure that all Account Executives are able to nurture inbound leads and close sales to meet baseline monthly recurring revenue targets for the team.  This will be accomplished through ensuring that team members have the right skills, capabilities, engagement and motivation to meet goals, that pipelines are updated daily, inbound lead conversion targets, close rates & quotas are met, and Account Executives are utilizing our company’s tools and processes to effectively sell remotely/virtually. In addition, the Sales Manager will effectively utilize reporting in the CRM and other in other tools to track team performance to ensure targets are met and/or exceeded, and to provide reporting as part of regular team and leadership meetings.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals as forecasted by the Leadership Team.
  • Train team members to use a consultative sales approach to identify and address a client’s needs in a remote/virtual selling environment.
  • Ensure team is providing clients with value and meeting expectations with each client sale.
  • Ensure team is consistently keeping top of funnel full, and meeting success standards throughout the sales pipeline.
  • Provide ongoing leadership direction to Account Executives by ensuring that all talent management needs are supported and effectively managed.
  • Ensure all team members are submitting required documentation for a complete sale to ensure efficient Customer Success and fulfillment.
  • Work in partnership with Madwire and Torstar’s functional business units as required to proactively resolve concerns and facilitate a successful partnership 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years progressive leadership experience focused on client sales and leadership within the B2B software industry. 
  • Brings a proven track record for developing the strategy and leading the execution in creating a new inside B2B sales team for small to medium-sized clients.
  • Demonstrates an ability to train and develop others to understand and thoroughly know all product and service information and sales theory, and able to insert that knowledge into sales campaigns.
  • Proven ability to recruit and inspires a team of high achieving sales professionals that are able to maintain high energy, engagement, motivation and a client-centered focus.
  • Leadership level experience in sales process design and optimization, including pipeline development, lead generation, prospect generation and follow-up strategies.
  • Experience with analyzing markets and trends, anticipating and identifying opportunities and developing insight at a strategic level.
  • Demonstrates sales excellence and agility in leading team members to recognize sales scenarios that fit the client’s needs, researching and setting effective objectives, and driving tangible value to the client.
  • Lives the client experience – a proven track record of driving excellence to ensure team members provide exceptional equity in the relationship and anticipate and address potential attrition events.
  • Solid experience with driving change management and maintaining team agility with new systems and processes.
  • Possesses a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
