Job Description

Seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to join our team in Machias, Maine. The position is located in a fast-paced, incoming contact center that services a branch of the United States Department of Defense (DOD) with their human resource (HR) needs. We are looking for a candidate with office, administrative, and database experience. The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented team player who will be one of the points of contact at the facility, greeting others in a polite, and well-spoken manner.  Must be able to multi-task efficiently, experience with database operations, attention-to-detail, customer focused, detail-oriented and possesses excellent typing skills, The ability to be empathetic, yet confident and able to work independently, as well as within a team, and with management.

  • Answer inquiries via telephone and respond to customer requests using excellent customer service etiquette.
  • Log all inquiries, update information in the tracking system, and in accordance with call center procedures.
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer inquiries using the computer system and call center resources.
  • Escalate inquiry tickets with details of research and troubleshooting steps taken.

Qualifications

  • Possess an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Basic computer knowledge/technological skills - adept in using search tools, browsers, e-mail features, file attachments, file transfers, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, oral, and written communications skills.
  • The ability to type fast, accurately, and create grammatically correct responses without any spelling or grammatical errors.
  • Ability to comprehend, capture, and interpret basic customer information.
  • Quality management of work – highly attentive to detail, look for means of improving, as well as promoting quality work.
  • High level of motivation – A self-starter with the ability to make efficient use of time and resources.
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn customer service software.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to type 40 wpm.
