Job Description
Immediate opening for a two (2) Lead Infrastructure/Wireless Technicians. In this role, the qualified candidates will be responsible for traveling to customer sites - capturing and analyzing technical requirements specific to WiFi, WAP placement and installation, Survey heat mapping and documenting detailed system designs and participating in project and operational meetings. Additionally, in this role, the Lead Technicians will be responsible for surveying for all Infrastructure needs, to include, but not limited to cable support, cable survey and installation design and leading an installation crew of 4-6 installers. This role will require 80% travel throughout the United States.
- Conduct wireless site surveys and analyze results to determine optimal network configuration using Ekahau Software and test equipment. (Ekahau training and certification can be provided to candidate with string WiFi WAP installation and implementation skills.
- Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain local and enterprise networks.
- Candidate will be working in a multi-vendor network related environment integrating wireless equipment within current WAN and security infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve wireless network issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Active Public Trust Clearance
- Pass a drug screening.
- 3-5 years Wifi Installation and design experience
- 5-8 years Project Lead Experience
- Ekahau Certified or experience with Ekahau or equivalent survey analysis software is PREFERRED.
- BICSI Technician I PREFERRED
- Experience with wireless site surveys and analysis tools & equipment
- In-depth knowledge of wireless network architecture, protocols, and technologies.
- Proficient with Aruba and Cisco Wireless solutions
- Understanding of Cisco campus network architecture
- Drive site installation and survey standards of wireless access points and building environmental considerations.
- Provide daily status/updates to supervisors/ managers.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word
- Self-starter and possess the ability to prioritize work and determine the tools / material required to accomplish the assigned task.
- Must have strong problem-solving, as well as the ability to interact well with both internal and external engineers, technicians, and customers
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to be stand, stoop, walk and climb ladders as required and use aerial lifts up to 30’.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
