This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food. 

Job Description

We're after a committed and motivated Design Engineer to join our team and help in the development, delivery, and technical leadership of key projects. We develop products, create technology, and integrate systems. Our work has purpose, and we solve real-world needs. We focus as much on market and commercial development, as we do on the technical development for our solutions.

In this role you will:

  • This role will see you mechanically designing and developing world leading multi-disciplinary products for TOMRA Fresh sorting machines. This includes:
  • Produce detailed design specifications for end-to-end project delivery
  • Write test plans, implement testing, and write clear reports with conclusions and recommendations
  • Build prototypes in a cost effective and product de-risking manner
  • Project plan by making accurate time and cost estimates for projects, and delivering to those estimates
  • Provide technical advice and weighing in on decisions that impact projects 

Qualifications

About you

  • This role will see you liaising with professionals throughout our organisation from Sales Engineering, R&D, Assembly and Purchasing. Our successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Have 3-6+ years' experience in a Mechanical Engineering role
  • Experience using Solidworks or another 3D modelling system
  • Happy to travel domestically to various sites to install and test prototypes
