Sales Manager North West

  • Full-time

Company Description

TOMRA was founded in 1972, based on the design, manufacturing and sale of reverse vending machines (RVMs) for automated collection of used beverage containers. Today TOMRA provides solutions that enable the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems, and food processing by employing sensor-based sorting and grading technology. At TOMRA, we value and encourage innovationpassion and responsibility in everything we do.

The TOMRA Group employs 5,000 people globally and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: TOM). TOMRA was named Norway’s Most Innovative Business in 2023, number one in the list of the country’s top 25 companies.

TOMRA Collection is a leading innovator in the circular economy and Clean Loop Recycling. Founded on the invention of the world's first reverse vending machine, we are now responsible for approximately 85,000 installations across more than 60 markets. By providing an effective and efficient way of collecting, sorting and processing containers, TOMRA's reverse vending systems make it easy for consumers to recycle and contribute to a more sustainable planet.

In the UK, we are currently building our local organisation and are at a very exciting point in our journey, with the launch of a UK Deposit Return Scheme in October 2027.

Job Description

We’re looking for someone to take ownership of our North West England region—building strong relationships with customers, developing new opportunities, and supporting the rollout of TOMRA solutions across the area.

The UK Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) is coming and will significantly change how recycling works across the country. TOMRA is playing a leading role in this transition, and we’re growing our UK team to support it.

This is a role where you’ll have the autonomy to manage your own territory, plan your approach, and make a real impact locally—while being backed by a collaborative and supportive UK-wide team.

The opportunity

As a Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing new business across North West England—identifying opportunities, building relationships with retailers, and guiding conversations through to long-term partnerships.

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership of new business development across your region—from first conversations through to signed agreements
  • Build relationships with retailers and key stakeholders ahead of DRS implementation
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and identify where TOMRA can support
  • Work closely with colleagues to shape proposals, pricing, and value cases
  • Support pilot and trial projects as a pathway to long-term partnerships
  • Plan and manage your own pipeline, turning opportunities into sustainable business
  • Represent TOMRA in customer meetings and regional industry events

You’ll have the support of an experienced team—but the flexibility to organise your work in a way that suits you and your region.

What success looks like

  • A well-managed and steadily growing pipeline in your region
  • Strong relationships with customers and partners
  • Pilot projects progressing into long-term agreements
  • A clear contribution to TOMRA’s growth across Northern England and the UK

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

We’re open to different sales backgrounds, but you’ll likely:

  • Enjoy building relationships and working closely with customers
  • Be comfortable managing your own time and working independently
  • Take a practical, thoughtful approach to problem solving
  • Be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
  • Be interested in further developing your commercial skills over time

Experience in a customer-facing or field-based role is helpful, but we’re equally interested in people with the right mindset and potential.

If you’re looking for a role where you can build relationships, take ownership, and make a visible difference in the North West of England —we’d love to hear from you!
