Job Description

At TOMRA RECYCLING we are looking for a Material Planner who will drive an efficient flow of materials, maintain optimal inventory levels, and effectively balance supply and demand.

Your responsibilities will be:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP) activities to ensure the timely availability of materials
  • Process all purchasing-related documentation, including Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), Order Confirmations (OCs), returns, and invoices for machines, services, and prototypes
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels in line with business objectives, ensuring service continuity and minimising production downtime
  • Work closely with the strategic sourcing team to address supplier capacity constraints, perform analysis, and provide demand data to support sourcing strategies
  • Regularly review and optimise MRP parameters to improve material replenishment processes
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data within relevant systems
  • Collaborate with the strategic sourcing team on supplier performance monitoring and evaluation
  • Process supplier claims in cooperation with the Quality department

Collaboration and Communication

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including procurement, quality, and operations teams
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to achieve shared business goals

Compliance and Standards

  • Follow guidance from the line manager and leadership team
  • Adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and company standards
  • Comply with relevant legislation, as well as occupational health and safety (OHS), fire safety, and environmental requirements
  • Attend training sessions and business trips as required

Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to achieving the organisation’s quality policy and objectives through day-to-day work and behaviour
  • Follow all requirements set out in the quality management system documentation
  • Promote a safe working environment by supporting the goal of zero accidents and reducing near misses and injuries within own area of responsibility

 

Qualifications

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an individual who brings a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a collaborative approach:

  • Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in material planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making
  • Solid experience working with ERP systems and tools
  • A lean mindset, with flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments
  • Results-oriented, open-minded, and equipped with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • A collaborative team player with excellent networking skills and a strong customer focus
  • Proficiency in English is essential; German language skills would be considered an advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
