We are currently on the lookout for an Financial Controller & Accounting Manager* to build up our finance department in North Carolina. 

Job Description

As the Financial Controller/Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and management of our new finance department in the USA. This is a greenfield opportunity, where you will be instrumental in building the finance team from the ground up, establishing robust structures, and implementing efficient processes. You will ensure the timely preparation and reporting of all monthly financial information and oversee an accurate and timely year-end close along with the distribution of monthly financial reports.

This position will collaborate closely with business units and Group finance teams globally to maintain financial integrity across all activities associated with the America's recycling operations. Your efforts will provide key management with accurate, reliable, and trustworthy financial information.

Your responsibilities: 

  • Support the continued process of incorporation including but not limited to tax registrations, payroll & benefits set-up, ERP implementation, ...
  • Set-up and structure the Finance Department, including defining resource requirements, defining roles, responsibilities and processes.
  • Manage accounting operations and reporting including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Centre Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition and ensure accuracy and appropriateness in accordance with GAAP (and potentially IFRS).
  • Ensure reporting reliability, consistency and transparency; complete analysis of variances and propose corrective actions to management.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure including chart of accounts and related portions of the accounting software.
  • Perform monthly and yearly Group reporting in the provide Reporting Software (Tagetik).
  • Work closely with the local management and monitor and safeguard efficient working of the office.
  • Interface with external partners like audit firm, tax accountants, banks, lawyer, etc. and provide schedules and reconciliations as needed
  • Support Yearly Budget and Quarterly forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA, MBA, or CMA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as Accounting Manager or similar finance leadership function required.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, etc c
  • Strong technical accountant and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
