Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) in our office in Leuven, Belgium. This key leadership role will drive the design, development and deployment of our TOMRA portfolio of machines, ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management expertise, superior organisational skills, a deep understanding of Operational Excellence and a proven ability to develop, grow and optimise teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the project management team, including project managers, technical writers and compliance mangers.
- Conduct monthly project boards to update the food leadership team on project statuses including gate reviews.
- Establish maintain and optimise PMO processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistent project delivery.
- Develop and optimise the PMO team towards achieving best-in-class project management, integrating financials and capitalising projects.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation to meet project demands and manage resource conflicts.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, aiming to achieve financial targets and maximise capitalisation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the PMO and implement best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in project management methodologies and optical sorting technologies.
Project Planning & Execution:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines resources, budgets and risk management strategies.
- Ensure that all projects adhere to company quality standards and requirements.
- Implement and monitor quality processes to maintain high standards of project delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including regional teams, R&D, sales, services and operations teams, to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Regularly communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
Health & Safety:
- Promote a “Safety first” culture throughout the company, our customers, and our industry.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality across all facets of our operation and customer delivery.
- Identify, implement, and embed any Excellence initiatives to improve quality, performance and efficiency of the team to facilitate outstanding customer experience.
Qualifications
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a managerial PMO capacity in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion, ideally in industrial technology sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, grow and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in a matrix environment at all levels.
- Experience in operational excellence and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Willing to travel and capable of efficiently collaborating across various time zones.
