Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Area Sales Manager Metal (ASM Metal), where you'll collaborate closely with the Sales Manager Metal Japan, Sales Manager Japan, and global colleagues in Metal recycling, alongside local partners and suppliers, to drive the promotion and sales of Tomra Recycling products throughout Japan. This role demands extensive travel within Japan and offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our company's growth and success.

As an integral part of Tomra Sorting KK in Japan, your primary focus will be on spearheading sales initiatives within the Metal segment. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting consultative technical sales activities aligned with our overall Metal Recycling business strategy. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying customer needs and presenting value-oriented business propositions, both technically and commercially. Cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with partners and customers will be crucial to your success, as will staying abreast of industry trends and developments, maintaining close contact with relevant authorities.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in native Japanese with business-level proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated experience of 7-10 years in sales, specifically within capital B2B products, preferably in multinational settings.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, driven by hunger, passion, and energy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also being capable of working independently and autonomously.
  • A fast learner with the capacity to swiftly grasp the nuances of Tomra's products and target markets.
  • Exhibit hands-on approach with high integrity, demonstrating a readiness to take ownership of business outcomes.
  • Prior experience in sales of high-tech, high-value capital equipment, with a strong understanding of value selling approaches.
  • Knowledge or background in the metal and metal recycling industry is highly advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related studies; additional qualifications such as a B.A. or M.A. in Metallurgy are desirable.
  • Socially adept, resilient to stress, and committed to hard work.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Possess a valid, clean driving license, essential for travel requirements.
  • Must embody strong teamwork ethic.
