Position Overview:

TOMRA is hiring a Senior Financial Controller* for its office in Leicester (UK).

As an important member of the TOMRA Recycling Finance & Administration Team, the Senior Financial Controller is responsible for managing the F&A functions of a portfolio of TOMRA entities by consulting, training, updating, giving guidance & supporting the local finance managers on divisional & Group standards, frameworks and processes. He/she sets and maintains standards, drives process improvements, analyses the financial health of the assigned entity portfolio from an elevated perspective and acts as a business partner for Group, executive & operational teams.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Controller manages the finance & administration departments of a defined portfolio of entities with the respective Finance Managers reporting directly to him/her. Additionally you will have the opportunity to grow into a Managing Director position. 

The responsibilities include:

Finance:

  • Guiding, developing and retaining strong finance & administration teams
  • Building knowledge, update, train & consult FMs and their teams on Group reporting requirements (IFRS etc.), policies, processes, standards, etc.
  • Supporting & reviewing month-end & year-end financial reporting
  • Supporting financial managers on questions arising from audits / (external) reviews
  • Supporting and reviewing the budgeting & forecasting
  • Substituting the finance managers where needed
  • Driving improvements and efficiencies and raising financial awareness across the business
  • Performing project work to build business and improve / streamline systems, processes and controls
  • Building and maintaining specialist knowledge in defined areas (e.g. ERP system, transfer pricing, etc.)

Managing Director:

  • Overall site responsibility covering 30 employees
  • Responsible for Health and Safety
  • Responsible for all employee related tasks in close collaboration with the global People function

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelors / masters degree in finance, accounting or similar
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a Finance and Management role
  • Previous work experience in a Big 4 audit or known consultancy firm desirable
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable
