Job Description

At TOMRA Food we are committed to our brand and as we continue to invest globally, we are looking for passionate and driven Field Service Engineer to join our team. Your work will be purposeful, and you will play an important role in helping the business achieve some exciting goals.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional technical support, maintenance, installation, and customer training services for TOMRA's cutting-edge recycling and waste sorting equipment. This role aims to ensure the seamless operation of TOMRA's solutions, maximize equipment performance, and enhance customer satisfaction. 

Primary Job Functions 

  • Install and modify equipment at customer sites, ensuring functionality meets specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive tuning and setup encompassing mechanical, electrical, electronic, and optical aspects.
  • Evaluate machine performance to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Independently diagnose and resolve equipment issues, ensuring prompt resolution or clear communication of plans and costs.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through problem-solving and preventive maintenance efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve work instructions and assist in document creation.
  • Maintain proactive communication with sales leadership, identifying sales opportunities and addressing customer concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support training of new Field Service Engineers.
  • Address and escalate customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Advocate for customer needs to improve products, systems, and services, including providing customer training as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in electronics/electrical assembly and wiring, with a strong understanding of technical procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent customer support skills and communication in English.
  • Preferably a degree or certification in relevant engineering fields (Field Service, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Comfortable working in varied environments including food plants and facilities with extreme temperatures.
  • Experience in field service, PC building, repair, and software installation.
  • Basic knowledge of circuits, test equipment, computer hardware, and MS Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, perform physical tasks, and work in confined spaces.
  • No major food allergies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have unrestricted driving ability in the country of residence.

For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00.
