Job Description

Please note that the role is on-site (with later hybrid-office possibility in agreement with manager) and the successful candidate must be based at one of our sites in Europe: Asker (Norway), Langenfeld / Mülheim-Kärlich (Germany), Senec (Slovakia), Apeldoorn (Netherlands), Dublin (Ireland) and will be working in the CET time zone.

As part of our cloud transformation process, we are seeking an individual to be instrumental in building and refining our new Azure cloud platform in Group IT. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with various departments across TOMRA, ensuring our cloud environment is not only robust and efficient but also aligned with the ever-changing business landscape. 

We're looking for someone who is curious, learns quickly, and easily adapts to changes. You will be part of a team constantly working with new technology, so we believe it's important that you enjoy learning new things. Fluency in English is a requirement for this position. 

As a Cloud Engineer in Group IT you’ll play an important part in assisting in the transformation of TOMRA IT platforms into the cloud. Your main responsibilities will be:  

  • Assist in designing, developing, and managing a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose, global cloud platform. 
  • Create and maintain landing zones tailored for diverse archetypes, including Remote Sites, Cloud Applications, VM Workloads, and more. 
  • Interface with business teams, help create new solutions that solves their needs. 
  • Assist with modernizing our existing application portfolio and on-premise systems to run in the cloud. 
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, availability and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. 
  • Create automation of processes and workflows to increase the efficiency of our solutions.

Qualifications

It would be advantageous if you are familiar with:  

  • Cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and related technologies. Certifications are an advantage but not a requirement. 
  • Infrastructure-as-Code, Continuous Development/Integration and Automation.  
  • Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, or similar languages. 
  • Cloud networking, security and general architecture, frameworks such as Cloud Adoption Framework. 
  • Container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes/AKS. 
  • We need you to be experienced and qualified in building and operating secure landing zones. We want you to have experience in migrating and operating cloud workloads, scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar as well as knowledge of Microsoft Azure. It is preferred you are certified in Microsoft Azure (other cloud providers may be considered). 
  • Translating technical language for end users  
  • If you have experience in shaping cloud environments and have a solid understand of good stakeholder management, we want to hear from you. 
  • You must be a proficient user of English (minimum C1). Some travelling may be required - expect up to 10 days per year.
