Job Description

  • Participate in full cycle software development projects for new sensor-based sorting machines in TOMRA for recycling.
  • Design and implement new software modules.
  • Supervise the implementation of new functionality in the field, test new functionality on test machines.
  • Extend, optimize and verify existing software.
  • Cross link to other departments: electrical & mechanical design, service, production.
  • Provide support to colleagues in the service and production departments.
  • Contribute ideas on improvement opportunities (quality/efficiency).
  • Preparation of technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or related fields.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Willingness to participate in frontend development with Typescript / HTML / CSS.
  • Understanding of interfaces between hardware and software.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Openness to occasional travel (up to > 5% per year).
  • Good skills in image processing, pattern recognition or machine learning are of advantage.
  • Primarily on-site, with the possibility of 1-2 days of remote work per week.
  • Hands-on mentality and a keen interest in working with machinery and the recycling industry.
