Job Description

We are introducing an exciting new position: the Global Solutions Business Controller, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Solutions. In this influential leadership role, you will be instrumental in shaping and directing our financial operations, influencing strategic decisions, and actively contributing to the overall success of our organisation. We are looking for a seasoned finance professional, an adaptable mindset, capable to thrive with minimal guidance, with strong managerial and analytical skills.

Role and Responsibilities:

Financial Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Business Partner:

  • Support the SVP in the Global Solutions development to drive strategy execution.
  • Act as key financial player on projects (i.e new product initiatives, inventory optimisation, backlog reduction…).
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Financial Planning and Analysis: 

  • Lead the development and execution of financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to support decision-making. 

Budget Management: 

  • Lead the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets in collaboration with heads of department.

Financial Reporting: 

  • Prepare regular financial reports for management, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.

Financial Control: 

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. 
  • Conduct periodic audits to safeguard financial assets. 

Audit and Compliance: 

  • Create awareness and assure compliance with risks associated with the Global Solutions business area.
  • Risk management.
  • Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions. 

Team Leadership:

  • Create an agile, start-up-like innovative environment and culture, offer and support novel ideas and foster a climate of experimentation.
  • Ensure all employees have clear expectations, including objectives, regular reviews and feedback. 
  • Develop clear career pathways, that excite, provide clarity and support the attracting and retaining of top talent. 
  • Communicate appropriately on a regular basis to ensure the right people have the right information at the right time. 
  • Facilitate and support the ongoing training and development of employees to ensure knowledge is grown and retained.
  • Recognise the contribution of individuals and ensure any deviations are managed in a timely manner.
  • Actively work to improve our engagement of the site teams.

  • Identify, implement and embed any Excellence initiatives to improve quality, performance and efficiency of the team to facilitate outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or any economic discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a similar business or industry.
  • At least 5 years of successful leadership in a finance team.
  • Excellent English Language Skills: Clear and effective communication, both oral and written, ability to communicate with stakeholders with ease.
  • Innovative Mindset: Bring fresh perspectives to financial strategies and operations in a new and evolving organisation.
  • Independent: Able to work with little guidance in ambiguous settings.
  • Pragmatic and Flexible: Adaptability to dynamic business environments and an ability to find practical solutions.
  • Stress Resistant: Stay calm under pressure and navigate challenges with composure.
  • Solution-Oriented: Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Customer-Focused: Understand and prioritise the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to Travel: Prepared to travel regularly to other TOMRA sites, both domestically and internationally.
