Job Description

TOMRA is expanding our Group Sustainability team and looking for purpose-driven talent to help deliver on our ambitious strategy for sustainable growth and support the further integration of sustainability management into core business processes and operations.

The Group Sustainability (GS) team is responsible to lead and coordinate corporate sustainability efforts at TOMRA, including:

Strategy: Define strategic sustainability ambition and priorities; focus efforts where they matter most

Implementation: Guide and support Divisions to operationalize strategy and embed sustainability considerations in decision-making

Communication and engagement: Report on and communicate our sustainability impact and performance with clarity and visibility; foster staff engagement and ownership for the sustainability agenda across TOMRA Group

Specific tasks and responsibilities will be determined based on the skills and competencies of selected candidates and final team composition, but may include:

Lead/form part of project delivery teams related to sustainability strategy execution:

  • Climate action/ decarbonization
  • Supply chain sustainability
  • Sustainable product design

Lead/support ESG data management and reporting (in collaboration with Group Finance)

  • CSRD/ ESRS compliant sustainability reporting
  • Dialogue with ESG rating agencies (CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics)
  • ESG data analysis for internal use (strategy execution)

Project/program management

  • Maintain overview of ongoing projects/ initiatives across GS responsibilities
  • Support Head of Sustainability to enable effective management and follow-up of GS responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables

Support overall sustainability management and governance

  • Support Head of Sustainability in facilitating internal collaboration fora at executive and operational levels
  • Lead/ Support work on development and review of sustainability related policies and procedures

Qualifications

We would like to speak to both experienced and more junior candidates. For experienced candidates, proven subject-matter expertise in one or more topic areas relevant to the execution of TOMRA’s sustainability strategy is a requirement.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with management and colleagues at all levels of the organization, team spirit, adaptable and flexible to change
  • Strong integrity, work ethic and commitment to deliver quality
  • Professional experience within sustainability management or related field (preferably corporate or consulting)
  • Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. ESRS, GRI, SASB, SDGs, TCFD, CDP, etc.) is a plus
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape for sustainability management (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Transparency Act, etc.) is a plus

Minimum master’s degree in business/ accounting/ sustainability/ climate & energy / engineering. Extensive relevant experience in one of these fields together with a relevant bachelor degree is also applicable.
