Job Description

As a Data Engineer at Core R&D, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the field of data analytics and recycling sorting.

You will play a crucial role in performing, monitoring, and evaluating data analytics services for TOMRA Recycling Sorting. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art procedures for managing, versioning, cleaning, and conducting exploratory analysis on datasets used for recyclables classification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain cutting-edge procedures for dataset management, versioning, cleaning, and exploratory analysis.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement prescriptive and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Create and deploy reporting tools to conduct comprehensive analysis of classification accuracies across various domains and time periods.
  • Develop software solutions to support service technicians in their daily tasks and optimize their workflows.
  • Conduct tests and experiments to identify opportunities for machine performance improvement and contribute to ongoing optimization efforts.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and developments in the data engineering field, and actively share knowledge and insights with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in computer science, natural science, or engineering with a focus on data analytics & science.
  • Strong background and experience in data science and analytics, including data mining, machine learning, machine vision, deep learning, time series analyses, or other related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python and data analysis in distributed environments such as Microsoft® Azure, Kubernetes, or Apache Spark.
  • Previous work experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Experience in C++ is a plus.
  • Good English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Basic knowledge of German or the willingness to learn German.
