Job Description

Reporting to the PMO Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a master project consisting of multiple, short program, quick turn-around projects in QLD. You will act as the Project Lead for the business, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that they are informed, engaged and have appropriate expectations throughout the course of the master project.  

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance and delivering projects that are compliant, efficient and on budget without compromising standards and safety whilst maintaining a key focus on stakeholder communication. You will achieve this by overseeing all aspects of project management including, coordinating project planning, resourcing and trades, obtaining required building and planning approvals, progress reporting, troubleshooting, budget accountability, contractor and supplier management and risk assessment.

The main duties of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking audits of sites to confirm suitability of leads/opportunities from the Sales Team and compiling site packs post-audit to assist the Sales Team in securing the lead, and to be utilised for all approvals required for installation 
  • Supervising and coordinating work performed by external contractors to ensure they are working safely, efficiently and to a high standard 
  • Leading the wider project team, building and maintaining effective working relationships with technical professionals, project team members and stakeholders, acting as a conduit between the project team and the day-to-day business 
  • Obtaining all planning/development and building approvals required for the project, managing external consultants required 
  • Managing the cost, schedule, resourcing, subcontractor deliverables and technical performance of programs  
  • Demonstrating high-level project management skills using a pragmatic approach to any issues that arise, solving technical and non-technical problems throughout the life of the project. 
  • Providing timely and accurate information and status updates to all key stakeholders, both internal & external

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in a Project Management role 
  • Experience acting as a Project Lead for the wider business
  • Relevant qualification in Building & Construction and/or Project Management desired
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines including OH&S 
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, confidently and efficiently managing overall master project deliverables
  • Knowledge on how to effectively manage design and town planning processes 
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management and excellent interpersonal skills conducive to building effective relationships 
  • A valid Australian drivers license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel across SEQLD as required
