Position Overview

The focus of this position as System Developer is the development of software for TOMRA’s sensor-based sorting systems and the commissioning of the new software components on the machine in a hands-on manner.

You will work in a dynamic team where a strong cooperation with other working groups is required.

Job Description

  • Development and test of software for sensor-based sorting machines;
  • Performing experiments with new sensors, illuminations, PCs etc.;
  • Work on issues reported by Service or Production department;
  • Cross link to other departments (electrical design, service, production);
  • Contribute ideas about improvement possibilities (quality/ efficiency);
  • Produce input for technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Broad technical interest and willingness to work directly with and on the sorting machines;
  • Solid programming skills in C++;
  • Experience with interfaces between hardware and software as well as network programming and multithreading would be of advantage;
  • Willingness to acquire a basic knowledge of HTML / Javascript for simple frontend changes;
  • Good English skills spoken and written;
  • Basic knowledge of German or the willingness to learn German;
  • Skills in image processing, pattern recognition or machine learning are of advantage;
  • A degree in computer science or a related area.
