Job Description

Reporting to the PMO Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for delivering new projects to the business including the fit out of new indoor return points, the installation of new technology in existing return points and other business initiatives

As a successful candidate, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that they are informed, engaged and have appropriate expectations throughout the course of the project.  Liaising with the Retail Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of construction project management, particularly stakeholder communication, scope control, budget accountability, contractor management and risk assessment.

The main duties of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Retail Project Manager to confirm suitability of opportunities and site works required, seeking all approvals required for the site to be delivered to the business including planning approvals and building quotes
  • Working with Retail Project Manager to manage the cost, schedule, resourcing, subcontractor deliverables and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Securing building contracts with Principal Contractors to complete the fit outs efficiently and on-budget
  • Supervise and coordinate work performed by external contractors 
  • Lead the wider project team, building and maintaining effective working relationships with technical professionals, project team members and stakeholders, acting as a conduit between the project team and the day-to-day business 
  • Demonstrate high-level project management skills using a pragmatic approach to any issues that arise 
  • Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to all key stakeholders, both internal & external  

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in a Project Management role 
  • Relevant qualification in Building & Construction and/or Project Management desired
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines including OH&S 
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, confidently and efficiently managing overall master project deliverables with Retail Project Manager  
  • Knowledge on how to effectively manage design and town planning processes 
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management and excellent interpersonal skills conducive to building effective relationships 
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to travel across NSW as required
