Job Description

Provide health, safety, and environment leadership and technical support to employees at TOMRA Foods sites in Visalia and West Sacramento, California. Collaborate with employees across all functions to create a safe workplace, with safe people and safe processes. 

•    Assures the integration of HSE regulations and TOMRA requirements in alignment with the site’s needs.
•    Responsible for implementing and monitoring site-specific health, safety, and environmental tasks for two locations in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and Company policies and guidelines.
•    Evaluate hazards in an industrial setting and perform risk assessments.
•    Provide HSE technical support for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations for on-site work and work conducted at customer sites.
•    Keep up to date with current and pending HSE legislation and ensure that internal stakeholders are informed and made aware of the impact(s).
•    Work with leaders and team members to ensure support of site HSE activities, development & reinforcement of best practices.
•    Support customer HSE requirements including data management for contractor databases
•    Determine HSE training requirements and conduct or coordinate and track training.
•    Report, monitor, and collaborate with leaders on prevenative and corrective action for environmental, health, safety, environment and security concerns.
•    Ensure all HSE reporting is completed, including monthly reporting, customer requalification forms, and other requested information.
•    Coordinate tracking of energy use, water use, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and waste generation reduction projects.
•    Implement HSE management system elements such as document control, training matrices, etc.
 

Qualifications

•    3-5 years of health, safety and environment experience in an industrial setting required.

•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
•    Exceptional organisational and administrative skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and emergency preparedness.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Physical Environment

•    Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time.
•    Kneel, bend, and stand as necessary. 
•    Ability to lift 5-10 lbs.
•    Ability to walk throughout work Company and customer industrial work facilities.

Education

•    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•    Laser Safety Officer certification preferred.
•    Advanced training or certification in occupational safety preferred.
Travel

•    Travel up to 30% 

•    Ability to drive without restrictions
