Job Description

Your role as a Senior Software Developer will include:

  • Building software that allows our customers to leverage the full value of our award winning fruit grading and sorting platforms. The software sits very much at the forefront of our exciting IIoT/Industry 4.0 initiative.
  • Work collaboratively within a very experienced set of software teams, and working closely with our teams of research, mechanical, electronic, and automation engineers, who are busy prototyping new machines, not to mention collaborating with our product management team.
  • Effectively communicate and resolution management
  • Being part of a global company also means you get to collaborate with our colleagues in Europe, Asia and America.
  • Being proactive, forward thinking and curious about how things work
  • Understand customers real problems so that you're building software that makes a real difference to them.
  • Open communication with customers and colleagues to foresee growth opportunities

 Some of the exciting work you will be part of include:

  • Work with real-time performance high throughput grading machine, right now the biggest application is to grade ~800 fruit per second.
  • AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology has been applied by the surface defect detection, greatly accepted by the market and customers, the name is smart-map
  • Deep Learning technology, has been applied to do blue berry sorting
  • Work with Insight, the cloud based platform to collect all data globally
  • Cut-edge spectrum based technology to sort the internal properties (e.g. brix) and detect defects (e.g. Internal browning), without destruct the fruit.

Qualifications

Experience and skills you can bring to TOMRA Food:

  • A positive approach, agility to achieve customer focused results along with enthusiasm and curiosity tops our list of requirements!
  • Appropriate software development qualification
  • 4+ years' experience with C# or similar
  • 2+ years' web development experience (.NET, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript)
  • Understanding of Solutions Architecture

Desired but not essential;

  • Familiar with virtualised environments and containerisation
  • Web and cloud development experience
  • Interest in Machine Learning and AI
  • Experience with C++
