TOMRA Food designs and manufactures sensor-based sorting machines and integrated post-harvest solutions for the food industry, using the world's most advanced grading, sorting, peeling and analytical technology. TOMRA Food is a member of the TOMRA Group founded in 1972 that began with the design, manufacture and sale of reverse vending machines (RVMs) for automated collection of used beverage containers. Today TOMRA provides technology-led solutions that enable the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems that optimize resource recovery and minimize waste in the food, recycling and mining industries. This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food. 

The successful applicant will be working within our R&D software team, responsible for conducting research with guidance from one of our senior software developers.

Responsibilities: 

We are looking for a student to support projects within our software teams. The project is to port a real time application from 32 to 64-bit architecture. 

We are looking for students with a range of skills including C/C++ and C#, database and coding experience as well as the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and white papers.

About you: 

The successful candidate will be currently studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. We accept applications from students in all years of study however preference will be given to those students in their penultimate year. 

Problem solving, an analytical mind, great communication skills and strong attention to detail are a must for success! Our projects will give you the opportunity to utilise those skills you’ve gained in university thus far.  

Experience with various programming languages (Linex, C/C++) would be beneficial, but not essential.
