This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food. 

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within our Auckland based team for a motivated and innovative Junior Mechanical Design Engineer. We develop products, create technology, and integrate systems. Our work has purpose, and we solve real-world needs. 

About the Role:

·       Derive design requirements through communicating with project stakeholders

·       Machine design including proof of concept testing.

·       Write test plans, testing, and writing clear reports with conclusions and                                    recommendations

·       Build Prototypes in a cost effective and product de risking manner

·       Make accurate time and cost estimates for pieces of work

·       Refine / improve the design of existing products for both performance and                              manufacturing

·       Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and the create and update of Bills of Material

Qualifications

About You:

·       Relevant tertiary qualification (mechanical or mechatronics).

·       A passion for machine design with strong mechanical engineering skills.

·       Advanced skills in SolidWorks or another 3D modelling system.

·       Be self-motivated with an ability to communicate well with the wider design team and              with production management and workshop staff.

·       Happy to travel domestically to various sites to install and test prototypes
