Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team in the role of Operations Manager located at our Burnie site. 

In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing the Toll Tasmania – Seaquip teams across multiple sites (Burnie & Hobart) with a focus on exceptional safety and operational performance in line with internal operational procedures and ensuring ongoing regulatory and legislative compliance. 

The Seaquip team is primarily responsible for the maintenance of containers and semi-trailers within the Toll Tasmania business.  This role plays a key role coordinating and leading the activities to support the delivery of service objectives for the business.  With a good balance of day-day to day operational coordination and support along with the opportunity to contribute to strategic deliverables this role is a fantastic opportunity for someone either with experience in a similar role or for someone looking to take the next step in their career.


To be successful for the role you will have:

  • Preferred qualified trade background with experience in heavy mechanical, welding, fitter – or demonstrated experience in the day-to-day management of a welding/mechanical operation
  • Strong customer service orientation – service delivery, efficiency improvement and identifying growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to managing multiple activities and successfully deliver outcomes in a timely manner
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of OH&S legislation
  • Team leadership and management experience (or team lead/supervisory experience)
