The IT Business Analyst will pro-actively communicate and collaborate with the business, project team and stakeholder(s) throughout the project lifecycle identifying business needs and documenting these using the industry standard best practices (Technical and Functional user stories, use cases, UML diagrams) so that they can be developed by IT solutions providers.

Salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus and benefits.

Job Description

Securitisation project. 9 Month FTC

 

  • Support the business in writing change briefs, if required, ensuring the change brief is focused on driving  positive business outcomes aligned to business objectives and delivering meaningful benefits
  • Produce a clear business case defining goals, objectives, scope, capabilities required  and their associated IT estimates (provided by the appropriate IT Teams) to deliver as well as the benefits of delivering them, engaging with the relevant business areas to progress this and secure sign off
  • Document full business requirements using industry standard best practice, validating them with appropriate business SME’s. Manage the requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure transparent alignment with the scope and objectives of the project so that the project delivery delivers fit for purpose business outcomes.
  • Working with the business to write the acceptance criteria for each user story making sure there is clarity in what each deliverable ‘looks like’ and ensuring that they are signed off by the business prior to starting development.
  • To understand and document business rules ensuring that any changes in the future do not impact existing functionality. Working collaboratively with IT colleagues, including the Solution Architecture and development team, to ensure they fully understand the scope and intent of the User Stories and acceptance criteria, and the functionality / capabilities requested
  • Support prototyping and agile-based design by validating the design remains aligned to the agreed requirements.
  • Act as Product Owner during the daily stand ups to ensure that any queries raised by the delivery team are resolved in a timely manner throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Responsible for delivery of Show and Share’s with the business during each sprint and capturing outcome and feedback from the business.
  • Supports UAT by providing assurance that UAT test scripts are aligned to business requirements.
  • Adhere to the Change Delivery Framework.
  • Adhere to the IT Change and Operational Standards Policy.

  • Has an analytical mind and an understanding of structured business analysis techniques.
  • Proven excellent presentation, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate across all levels of the business and to be able to adapt style to reflect audience.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to challenge where appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate complex business and technical requirements to delivery team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/programmes of work at the same time
  • Highly organized, with a flexible approach to work, and the ability to multi-task effectively and work as part of a project team.

 

 

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • Ability to plan, design and lead workshops
  • Has an analytical mind and an understanding of structured business analysis techniques.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience of working as a Business Analyst in Financial Services Industry.
  • Experience in the UK mortgage market.
  • Experience working in an Agile and Waterfall delivery environment.
  • ISEB diploma in Business Analysis or working towards it.
