Spring/Summer Internship 2019 - NYC
- Intern
Company Description
Toast is on a mission to prove that the alternative to food waste is pint-sized and delicious. Brewing award-winning beer with fresh surplus bread that would otherwise be wasted and donating all profits to our partner charity Feedback to end food waste. We think Toast is the best thing since, well, you know…
We are built on four core founding principles:
Brew great beer that consumers will enjoy
Use fresh surplus bread to directly tackle bread waste
Raise awareness of food waste through positive, engaging campaigns
Donate all distributable profits to the charity Feedback to end systemic food waste
We are a fast-growing, global social enterprise, with ambitious plans to scale. As a profitable business, we can use more surplus bread and give more to charity.
Since launching two years ago in the UK, we’ve received global media attention, won numerous industry awards and achieved listings in Tesco, Waitrose, and Spar Scotland to name a few. We were the beer of choice at the Queen’s Tennis Championships and have spoken at and refreshed events all over the UK. In 2017 we launched franchises in Cape Town, South Africa and Reykjavik, Iceland, and licensed our brand in Rio, Brazil. We also started a subsidiary in NYC that drew major media coverage as well as partnerships with Whole Foods, Fairway, Shake Shack, JetBlue, and some far-reaching support from celebrity chefs.
