Job Description

Tiverton is seeking a proactive and resourceful Accounting Associate who can provide the highest quality financial, accounting, and operational support for Tiverton, while also undertaking various other tasks required at a fast-growing company. The desired candidate will be a problem solver with the desire to work in a dynamic environment.  

The individual will be an integral part of the Tiverton team and provide critical support to both the accounting department and the organization. The successful Staff Accountant will be self-motivated and energized by working with a group of thoughtful, smart, and skilled colleagues. He or she will enjoy being a part of an innovative organization focused on becoming a leading investment firm in the food production and Ag infrastructure sector. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Analyze financial data, assist with financial statement reports, and bank statement reconciliations
  • Collaborate with the accounting team in accounts payable and payment runs
  • Assist with coding and managing expense reporting, including allocation of fund related expenses 
  • Assist with investment reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and month-end close   
  • Help manage and assist with audits, compliance, and tax quarterly, yearly, and ad hoc requests
  • Assist with cash management, monitoring credit lines and calculating interest and fees 
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement opportunities to streamline or improve accounting processes
  • Complete investor requests and special projects as they arise 
  • Provide administrative support as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or other related majors
  • Investment / fund accounting / public accounting (audit) work experience or equivalent, including review experience for at least a portion of that time a plus
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products, emphasis on Excel
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Outstanding organization, decision-making and problem-solving skills
